Come poojos and all us Bengalees crawl out of hibernation and start searching for the ultimate experience of our Kalture the Dugra Pooja Celebrations. However, post pooja we equally promptly go back into hibernation, just surviving till the Lokhi (Laxmi) and Kali Poojas. When I had come to Bangalore about six years back we actually did not need much of a map to plan our pooja itinerary. All you had to do was see Chandradip's blog and carry on. However, with his posts getting old, and the explosion of poojas, incl Bihari ones in B'lore over the last six years..there is more planning that needs to go into it.

I saw a smart looking map in the Bengalee Association Poojo this time, but the one who put his seems to have gone back into hibernation before he could upload it. So this blog is to basically upload the map.

So here it is ! A total of 60 poojas !!  Including one this map may have missed out which takes place in the hall of the Krishna Temple near Jyoti Nivas College, Koramangla (incidently done by techies who look after you personally .. and do it very well).

I havent visited many pandals, but some notes for the newbies.

Food - The pandals at the major poojas are the focal point after the customary namoh. Hog all you can. But the quality for the price is suspect. I would stick to brand names like Lazeez. Zaika stall in Sarathi Koramangla is also one of my favorites.
Protimas - Bengalee Association takes the cake for the best pandal but the best protima is that in Jayanagar, Sarathi No 2 also comes up with nice protimas, the ones modelled on Jamini Roys art were too good.
Pandals - Bengalee Association takes the cake for the best pandal. Jayamahal is also good.
Bhog-Sarathi No 2. Bengalee Association and Sarathi No 1 if you want to stand in long queues. Krishna Temple, Jyoti Nivas for small personalised servings. I dont know what will happen if they become to popular.

May not be there next year.. hope you all have a good time.
